ARTIFACT

The creation of the "Torontoist" mobile app is the artifact I've selected to show my capacity for productive teamwork. The goal of this project was to provide an interactive tourist guide for Toronto that would make cultural and historical attractions more approachable and interesting.

collaborative & individual roles

  • collaborative

I was involved in several aspects of the development process for the "Torontoist" mobile app project. Because I contributed to the early concept generation, I significantly influenced the project's direction and tone. During this phase, the main features and design of the app were formulated and brainstormed to improve the user experience for visitors viewing Toronto's landmarks.

  • Role and Responsibilities

I was instrumental in developing the prototype and final presentation design for the "Torontoist" mobile app. I took the lead in the early phases and developed the prototypes, concentrating on creating a user experience that was both aesthetically pleasing and useful. The app's basic design was established by this early effort, which I then expanded upon to create intricate arrangements. In addition, I used Canva to start fresh when creating the final project presentation, carefully choosing the images and organizing the text to convey our project's goals, methodology, and results. This presentation skillfully demonstrated the app to academic evaluators and stakeholders, emphasizing its professional aesthetic appeal and utility.

  • Integrative Impact on Usability and Visual Engagement

My design choices had a direct impact on the app's usefulness and aesthetic appeal. I made sure that the app would successfully satisfy the needs of its users by concentrating on creating an interface that would be both aesthetically beautiful and simple for users to traverse. My work in this area was crucial to improving the overall user experience by making the app usable and engaging.

CONTRIBUTIONS

The prototype I created was essential in helping our team as we developed the "Torontoist" app. Acting as the framework for our efforts, it provided a distinct vision and functionality that guided our work and enabled team members to have a common understanding. This prototype created an environment conducive to feedback and cooperative improvement by allowing us to see potential improvements and necessary adjustments early in the development process. We successfully turned the early drawings into a polished final prototype through iterative revisions and team discussions, ensuring the app was aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. This procedure was essential to producing a finished product that was both useful and eye-catching.
